1st Week of July 2011

If you think we could fit more into the first week of July, you would be wrong! We started off last week with daily swim lessons for Hailey. Bug has turned into a "fish" like her big sister Kylie and passed her level 2 class with flying colors. I also took the girls to the pool last Monday when it finally reached 90 degrees and they loved it! Grace was a little tentative at first, but after about 15 minutes she was willing to do just about anything in the pool (aka "hot water").

After we spent all week at the "hot water" (aka pool), Grace wanted to try some of her big sister's tricks they did there at home...

On July 4th, we bought some fireworks and went up to Scott's parent's house where we could light them off. They were not very impressive, but the kids love doing it each year. This year Scott's cousin Mark and his family joined the crew. It was fun to watch Grace and her cousin Nathan play together.
"These are sure good cupcakes Nathan!""Hey, I'm done with my cupcake. Do you have any more I can have?""Man, forth of July can get pretty messy!"

Then this weekend (Fri-Sun), Kylie and Hailey both had a soccer tournament in Post Falls, Idaho. It was a very long drive each day to the fields. Although our teams did not win a game, we had fun in the sun and they got some good experience under their belts with their new teams.

Here is our littlest soccer fan. She was quite a trooper and did okay playing on the bleachers during the games. We did lose her once on Sunday morning - she had wondered off to the slide without us knowing.

  1. Gracie practicing her swimming pool techniques onto your couch cushions is about as cute as it gets! She looks so grown up! Her hair looks thicker, and she's doing "big girl" things all of a sudden. I can't waiat to see all of you in about 3 weeks!
Your 4th of July looks like lots of fun! I was remembering being all together in Kuna last summer, and the kids in Ben's pool and looking for "snake holes" in his back yard... remember how Deakan was seeing snakes everywhere? And Gracie was eating rocks every where we went...
